Product awards

Being nominated for the German Design Award is a great success in itself. Product developers cannot apply for this prestigious award, candidates are selected by an independent jury known as the German design council – a national institution for more than 60 years.

Bestowed since 2015, the German Stevie Awards are the most multifaceted business awards in Germany. They are part of the Stevie Awards programmes, which are among the most coveted international economy prizes. Each year, companies, products and individuals from over 400 applications are chosen to be awarded.

Every year a jury of experts selects outstanding product designs, communication designs and design concepts to be awarded with the sought-after Red Dot. Representing a cross-national quality seal for extraordinary design work, the Red Dot Design Award applies highest standards of innovation, functionality and ergonomics.

The iF DESIGN AWARD has been synonymous with outstanding design for over 60 years. Every year an independent judging panel of renowned experts is invited to consider and rate submissions from the worlds of design, industry and education. 

This award has a focus on communication with the consumer: in addition to a committee of experts, a jury composed of 100 users decides on the winners. The prize is awarded to products which, through their design, reflect answers to important changes in society.

The Automotive Brand Contest is the only neutral, international design competition for automobile brands and has emerged as an worldwide important event in the sector. With the competition the German Design Council honours outstanding product and communication design and draws attention to the fundamental importance of brand and brand design in the automotive industry. In this context the focus is on the integral and consistent use of the brand across all media and products.

Since 2003, the Plus X Award has been granted exclusively for products with a certain “Plus X factor“. This means that they possess a quality advantage worthy of distinction, offering a real added value to users. Thus, the focus is especially on functionality and future viability. The Plus X Award is the world’s largest innovation prize for technology, sports and lifestyle.

The annual Bicycle Brand Contest makes the bicycle, as well as matching accessories, the main topic it has already been for countless fans. The contest is held by the German Design Council, one of the world’s leading institutions in this field. The criteria for the award are intentionally set high: only products with outstanding product or communication designs have a chance. Pure functionality is not enough; the products must always offer a clear added value.

The DDC’s annual design competition "Gute Gestaltung" (Good Design) evaluates entries in ten different categories.

The leading international bicycle trade show Eurobike presents its award to products with a high degree of innovation, functionality, reliability and sustainability.
